ShipHQ / Scale calculator

Free tool · no sign-in · nothing saved

How many new paying users do you actually need?

Set a target, your current numbers and your funnel rates, and this calculates the new payers, visits and ad budget needed per month to get there — plus what today's budget or organic growth can already afford. Everything runs in your browser; nothing here is sent to a server, saved, or shared.

Same formulas as the Scale Plan inside the ShipHQ app (model version 1) — see the app for the version that tracks this against your real, connected numbers automatically.

Try an illustrative example — these are design examples, not real app data or a promised result:

What this means

Scenario only, not a guarantee. Assumes conversion and cost stay constant, organic and paid conversion are equal, and new payers land at month end — see the assumptions below. This is not LTV, post-tax profit or cash flow.

What this doesn't model

  • Conversion delay, seasonality, saturation, or anyone upgrading/downgrading plans.
  • Annual plans: this treats every input as already normalized to a monthly figure. A yearly cash collection is not the same thing as MRR.
  • Taxes, platform fees other than what you enter in the fee estimator below, and currency conversion — change the currency field and re-enter your numbers; it never silently converts an old number to a new currency.

Payment fee & net revenue estimator

Works without connecting anything. Every rate below is something you type in — the 2.9% + $0.30 placeholder is a common example shape, not a live or universal processor price; check your own processor's actual pricing and currency.

Labelled estimated on purpose: taxes, FX, payout timing and your processor's own volume discounts aren't modelled. If you've connected a real source in the ShipHQ app, its actual fees are shown separately from this estimate, never blended together.

The ShipHQ app runs this same calculation against your actual RevenueCat or Google Analytics data — or just a name and a number you type in by hand, no account connection needed to start.
